I Try

from Magnolia by Charlotte Mclean

/

about

I Try is an A capella piece. It is about the conflicting nature of home life and the demands of the music industry. There is often a disconnect for people in the Creative Arts between two identities when pressured to devote their lives to build a profile in the industry. This song is about placing more importance in qualities such as kindness, humility, joy and patience. These are the qualities our Mothers instilled in us.

lyrics

Am I good? I don't know, but I try
And my Mother always taught me, always taught me to be kind

Am I good? I don't know, but I try
And my Mother always taught me, always taught me to be kind

Am I good? I don't know, but I try
And my Mother always taught me, always taught me to be kind

Am I good? I don't know, but I try
And my Mother always taught me, always taught me to be kind

And I try, I try
Try, I try

Am I good? I don't know, but I try
And my Mother always taught me, always taught me to be kind

Am I good? I don't know, but I try
And my Mother always taught me, always taught me to be kind
